Question Pilot Interview Hints

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've got an interview on Friday, it's my first interview for airline work since i finished training. The job is for a B737 Type Rating and LOFT with Astraeus through PPRuNe Career Development Scheme.

Any heads up on the type of questions i could be asked, what to read up on or what to expect for group excersise scenarios would be very helpful.

Just a guess here, but I would think a read through your ATPL notes would be a good idea. Also a good book to read is Handling the Big Jets by DP Davis (ISBN 0903083019).

Use the search function and see if there is anything in the Wannabe's archive about interview technique or questions.. .<a href="http://www.pprune.org/cgibin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=72&t=000039&p=" target="_blank">maybe this will help</a>. .<a href="http://www.hiccups.com/interviewquestions.html" target="_blank">Interview Questions</a>. .<a href="http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=010382" target="_blank">Another questions thread</a>

Whatever the group exercise is, teamwork is important. You need to have all aspects covered by someone in the team. Is there a time limit? Make sure you have a timekeeper - etc.

Beyond that, know what an EADI is, and the names of all the Ireland forwards...

Wink

humble advice:. .1.wear a suit (if female wear an equivalent).. .2.be humble yet assertive (not at the same time).difficult one this, but I hope you see what I mean.. .3.if you get a nasty question, to which you do not know the answer, express a desire to be illuminated.. .4.do not pick your nose.. .5.remember that there will always be another one: the world is short of pilots.

Thumbs up

Thank you all for your help.. .As I said, it really is greatly appreciated.

It seems to be so difficult at the moment to get an interview, so i'm really pleased to get this far. Looking at some of the questions though on the links provided I have a lot to dig out from the depths of my memory, and relatively little time to do it! . .All i can do is be myself, and if thats what they're looking for, great, if not, then its all good experience.

Once again thank you, i'll pass the favour on to others, it's good to know people are willing to help. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

Think about this.....

'Why do YOU think that YOU can fly a 737, given that you have no airline experience - and little flying total time ?'

. .answer :

i) Know the SOP's. .ii) Know the profiles

The speed thru the air is not necesarily connected to the workload in the flightdeck.
