Drug and alcohol testing regulations
As many of you know, drug and alcohol testing (including pre-employment screening, random, probable cause, and post-accident testing) has been a fact of life for employees of U.S.-certificated airlines for some time.
These practices are required by Appendices I and J to Part 121 of the U.S. Federal Air Regulations [url]http://www.faa.gov/avr/aam/adap/[url] and are applicable to pilots, flight attendants, mechanics, dispatchers, security coordinators, and other employees performing 'sensitive' functions.
A question (or survey, if you like) for my own education -
Is there existing / pending / proposed regulation of a similar nature for employees of Europe or Asia-based airlines?
Alternately, absent some form of government regulation, does your airline compel any sort of drug or alcohol testing through company regulations, union contract, or other means?

Worked some years in India, the law requires a breath test before each duty. The device produces a print out and it has to be filed together with a doctors(!!!) report for each crew member (and each duty).
