Fly-By-Wire in corporate aircraft
I posted this question in the BizJet forum and did not get many responses, so I'll try it here to a bigger audience.
My question was/is Fly-by-Wire (FBW) in corporate aircraft.
We ordered a Falcon FNX at the Paris Airshow. One of the many differences between the 900EX and the FNX, is that the FNX will be pure FBW aircraft. I have found out from a Dassault test pilot that there will be no manual reversion and the cockpit flight controls will probably be a side-arm controller. I understand the reasons and philosophy behind the FBW concept on having this type flight control system on large jet transports and combat aircraft. However I fail to see the need of such a system on a corporate aircraft. Unless of course the FNX is being designed to go out and shoot down G-Vs.
Anyway I would like to have as many responses as I can from everybody, not just corporate pilots.
Thanks in advance.
