Type Rating "Conversion"... Is there such a thing?
My company is currently considering a new jet. Under FAA regs I need to get type rated. If I get typed as PIC, can I "convert" it to my CAA ATPL? Are there references out there on the web?

Sqwak: This reverts back to the old conversion theme, from what I've been able to find out, you'd still have to do the written exams and then do the JAA ATPL skills test on the palne you're type-rated on with a CAA inspector on board. That's if you've already logged more than 500 hrs. on a multi-pilot aircraft.
I don't think you can get a CAA ATPL anymore, now it's all JAA ATPL.
Try :
<a href="http://www.caa.co.uk" target="_blank">www.caa.co.uk</a>
under licensing.
happy landings!
