Post LHR-Bangalore; viable?

I have recently been seriously considering the viability of operating a direct flight from London-Heathrow to Bangalore, India. The regional Indian airport’s an important destination, not only because it’s a major domestic gateway, but also, and perhaps more importantly, because of the silicone industry, which is present in the area. Indeed, the area’s considered the “Silicone Valley of India”, thus indicating the sheer importance of the material and the area. In addition, many IT companies have their headquarters in the city, which could perhaps be beneficial, and a factor when considering the potential demand.

Presently, no airline serves Bangalore direct from London. The only real option is to fly via Delhi or Bombay, both of which would obviously be time consuming. The city’s located incredibly close to Madras, which is served by British Airways non-stop three-times weekly from London-Heathrow, using the 747-400. The distance – thus a potential alternative - must be borne in mind, when deciding whether or not such a new flight’s worthwhile.

I am particularly keen on operating a smaller capacity aircraft, for example the 752 or 763, thus indicating that the airline could increase frequency, therefore satisfying an important aim of passengers. However, obviously the 752 isn’t suitable as regards its range. In view of this, an alternative exists; perhaps the airline could operate via Dubai, thus allowing additional passengers to fly to Bangalore from the Middle Eastern airport. The silicone industry employ’s many people from the UAE, so perhaps this is worthwhile. On the other side of the coin, the 763 also seems appropriate, and somewhat ideal, as not only does it have an appropriate range, but also seemingly adequate capacity.

Does such a flight seem viable? I would be most grateful for feedback, from you seemingly knowledgeable individuals.

It was? Oh, ok. That's fine, as if you've already read something similar, you'll be able to contribute significantly, as you may have thought about it heretofore.

Last time into Bangelore we picked up about seven pallets of silk for delivery to various European cities, to be fashioned and sold at a vast profit.
Seriously doubt you will get fith freedom rights out of UAE to India, seriously doubt you will get any worthwhile landing rights in India, their own airlines are very hungry for business. What can you offer them in return? Might have to consider a 51% Indian owned operation, even then you will have to fight every inch of the way for any kind of traffic rights, freight or pax.
