Post Dornier

Can anyone give me the definitive pronunciation of Dornier?

Is it Dorni-ay or Dorni-err?

Thanks!

Depends. If you're French it's Dogniay, if you're Scottish (hoorah) it's Dorrnierr, and if you're German it's ACHTUNG FLUGZEUG STUKA DONNER UND BLITZEN.
Cheers DB6
Sorry, couldn't resist.

Dorni-ay

as the French would pronounce it, is the "original".

So what did you win in the bet now?

Nope, DB6 is correct, and when did the French have a SAY in it anyway...?

The company used to be German.
Herr Dornier was a German.
You pronounce it as if it were a French name.
If heard the name pronounced correctly since I´ve been a little grommet...

How do Texans pronounce it?
Or Chinese (now that would be interesting)?
Or Ozzies?
Who cares anyway - and WHY??!

Questions the world doesn´t need - should make some interesting "conversation" after a few beers, though...

Thanks folks!

'Dorni-ay' it is then..........but I have the same accent as DB6 so if I slip up I'll blame it on a cultural propensity to roll my Rs!!

Except in N.America. The two airlines I've flown on with 328s both referred to them as 'Dawnears'.
