Arrow formalities

Recently, I took a flight overseas and I noticed something quite disturbing about the behavior of the flight crew. First of all, no one greeted us when we got on the plane and there was no one standing at the door to wish us well when disembarked. Now, I remember, back in the eighties, flight crews were quite friendly. The pilot, FO, and FA's all stood by the cockpit door and waved goodbye to the passengers and sometimes shook our hands. Many passemgers went out of their way to tell the crew thanks. Now, when the plane lands, the FA's are no where to be found or they seem to be occupied and the pilots are still seated in the cockpit. The atmospehere is very unfriendly. What happened? Can a pilot please explain.
