From Paul Douglas (General Manager Strategy and Resources Flight Operations) at the 5th annual BALPA Employment Opportunities Conference held in London in October.

Despite recent publicity surrounding BA's route re-structuring, there is a planned reduction in capacity, growth in flying hours will come as a result of introducing smaller capacity aircraft.

Recruitment is planned at a rate of 200 a year until 2004 - part cadet, part DEP (age limit 49)......but opportunities are only available on shorthaul types. Zero flight time (ZFT) applicants require 1000 hours on type.
