Necktie removed during flight?

Do you need to remove your necktie during flight? My airline requires necktie to be removed during flight in afraid of rapid decompression.

What does rapid depressurization have to do with wearing a tie?

I usually remove the tie for long flights, and often remove my shirt during long flights and wear a tee shirt, instead.

Our B747 lost the cockpit window during cruise and air suction drag the pilot necktie pulling his neck. So our company requires pilot to remove our neckties during flight. Wonder about other operators for this requirement.
