The consultation closed last week so I assume they will need a month or so to look at all the replies. From a conference last week I get the impression that not much will happen for a while due to Politics - Election in two months - new government then this may get pushed down the Agenda. However, I think we have to be careful that nothing is implemented quietly and that the comments in the consultation are taken into account.

Doc EC300 will take effect on 29th of April, i.e. just over a month away will still some points to be finalised. It is planned to be less restrictive that the current Doc 2320 (NASP) which it replaces. However, it does include relaxing the restriction on sharp objects and also no longer a limit on cabin bag sizes, I would strongly imagine some of these would remain as a request from the airports / airlines.
One change which is still to be confirmed is the current 10T limit on screening flights, but whether it remains as 10T or increases to 15T, anything above will be subject to screening if commercial or private...
Also the passenger questioning (i.e., did you pack this bag yourself...etc), will no longer be required; instead replaced with a different phylosophy.
I don't think people will be in a hurry to relax too much immediately...
