Flight Crew licence renewal

Hi,

My UK JAA CPL is up for renewal in a few months, Ive just had a letter through, I have the option to renew my UK licence for £132. Or I have the option to convert to a JAR licence for an extra £100! The letter simply gives me the option but does not outline any benefits of the conversion. My UK licence has served me well up until now and I see no reason to convert and pay more money. I cant find any other information on the UK CAA website either.
Can anyone tell me the benefits of converting to a JAR licence, is it worth paying an extra £100 for??

Thanks.
