JAA EASA License Conversion

I have read that in the conversion from the JAA to EASA the rules for foriegn pilots might be eased and that it may actually be easier to convert from a Canadian to a JAA license than from an FAA license, does anyone have details on this? Thanks.

Maybe in the future, but not within the next 3 to 4 years. EASA will cover licensing issues, however they are currently concerned with airworthiness compliance issues. The process will still be fairly involved even when EASA lays down the game rules regarding conversion.
