Airbus & Boeing Near & Mid Term Development plans

With the recent downturn in financial circles, can anyone shed light on how this impacting Airbus & Boeings near-term & mid-term development plans such as the A380-900 & 747-8 in near term & the much discussed 737 / A320 replacement in the mid-term?

On a purely Boeing front, will continued utility of the 757 design and the recent financial turmoil have any bearing on the sometimes mooted interim replacement for the 757, sometimes proposed as a 787 winged 737-900, or even a 787 winged 757 cabin, or will Boeing continue with a longer term 757 replacement plan?
