Exclamation ICAO CDN/FAA ATPL Conversion to JAA ATPL...

Anyone here converted their Canadian/FAA ICAO ATPL to a JAA ATPL?

Specifically, as a full ICAO, non-JAA ATPL holder, did your newfound JAA country's CAA require you to pass a Commercial and Multi-IFR skills test before being allowed to start a type rating?

The reason why I ask is that I have done my homework and have read the various posts out there, I have purchased my own hard copy of LASORS 2008 [hard to flip from one section to another using the e-version] and have read most it down to the point of being able to debate regs after dozens of hours of stimulating reading.... Unfortunately, the maze of appendices to each section that seem to countermand each other or are vague in regards to conversion cases when you start to really dig thru the JAR-FCL1 document....

I have the pertinant LASORS and JAR-FCL info underneath:

The gist of it is this;

I am completing my theory exams, and have 2300 hr total hours

over 500 rs in FAR 23 aircraft requiring two crew under Ops specification counting as my MCC training.....

should allow me to complete my full JAA ATPL [unfrozen] once I successfully pass an ATPL skills test which consists of a multi-crew, multi engine type rating course....

I ask because I am dealing with the Czech CAA, and they have made no mention of the ATPL skills tests, only information to allow me to convert my FULL ATPL into a Commercial/Multi-IFR...?

From what I understand, JAR-FCL has to be the same for every member country, so has anyone been in the same situation in any/all JAA countries?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
FAR23 equivalent that are required by operational specifications to be flown as two crew, as well as a Commuter Category Aircraft with a MTOM of 5,700 kg also required to be flown two crew [ PA-31 and DHC-6-300 respectively].

Thus I do NOT have a type rating, requiring under:

Section G 1.5 of JAR-FCL

Note 1

....with less than 500 hours experience, or does not hold a type rating will be exempted from the requirements to undergo approved ground and flying training prior to taking the theoretical knowledge examinations. In both cases, they will be required to to complete an approved JA Type Rating Course.....

An ATPL(A) Skill Test with, or observed by a CAA Flight Operations Training Inspector will be required at the end of the TRTO course. The ATPL Skill Test will have a 6 month validity for the purpose of licence issue.

So, anyone in a similiar situation been told to either: pass a type rating course,
or

have to jump thru the hoops of doing a SE Commercial Flight Test, then a Multi-IFR Flight Test, receive their JAA CPL

then proceed with the Type Rating "thaw" their JAA ATPL...
