Flight Bag/Case

Hi all, I'm looking for a new flight bag or case and I can find one that I like. Can anybody recommend one which they have, it doesn't have to be a proper pilots bag.

Most of the ones that I have looked at were either too big or too small. Not looking for one with wheels. I'm a 737 jock so has to fit down beside seat!

Cheers.

I bought my flight bag from Scott Leather (Scott Leather Company) a few years ago. It's a quality bag and has been very durable. It's not cheap (approx. USD300) but I figure if it lasts then it's worth it in the long run.

Hope this helps.

Yes, plastic bag for a supermarket .... great!

I have been known to turn up at work with a Tesco plastic bag in the past, it's called my executive flight bag and everyone is jelous .... however, if you want to walk out to the aircraft with your colleagues next to you, best get something a little smarter!

i.e a Waitrose one

Air Supply, Yeadon.

Ken, who has owned the shop for decades, very recently suffers a very sad loss. The details are on his website.

Air Supply Aviation Store, The North of England's premier pilot and avaiation shop

I have known Ken for a long time. I am sure that he would appreciate a note from those of you who have passed through his door or taken a cup of tea/coffee with him over the years.

I have 2. A modern leather job with wheels - Died a few months ago as the handle came un-rivetted.

An old worn but very nice leather job that I have had since the first day I flew as a cadet in a chipmunk, about 18 years ago. Sentimental and built to last (unlike the modern "made in China" c**p). I am now proud to walk past the younger pilots and remember some of the memories that my flight bag and I have had together .... Being a gift from my mother it is also very sentimental.

RIX

p.s. If you live somewhere with pavements as bad as here, don't get one with wheels. I spend most of my time carrying mine.

Most captains and several FO/s from my base (flying 73 classic) have a bag from TK MAXX. Not sure of the exact identity of the bag but it has a swiss flag on the front. Costs 20 quid. Perfect fit. Mine is a pierre cardin soft bag from argos. Also 20 quid (it's in the book as pilot's soft case) but it's just that little bit too big if you include the manuals on the side. Once this bag wears out i'm off to TK maxx to buy the swiss one. It really is perfect for the job

Edit: Bag also available from costco. I have the very bag that DB6 mentions but it really is just that little bit to big.
