Simulator Loft Scenarios

Does anyone know of a website or blog where Pilots exchange various Simulator scenarios, LOFTS, LPC/OPC information or command assessments they have experienced?

If its an airbus and a command check - I'll betchya someone will have to work through a double Rad Alt failure. How the aircraft was designed to behave so wierdly without these fairly uncritical items is anyone's guess. Anyhoo its a great one for the sim! Check QRH, FCOMs and read about it in the FCTM!

Back when I was flying Co-Pilot on the DC-8, I had an interesting LOFT experience. It was the Captain's leg and just between V1 and V2, he kinda started to slump over the wheel. Knowing we were in a simulator, I asked if he was alright, not paying any attention to the simulator. I even started to shake the guy. Well, there wasn't anything wrong with him and the instructor got a little upset because I didn't "fly" the airplane. I told him it was a simulator and I was concerned about the guy and had it been in a real airplane, I would've acted accordingly. So, we started over. I kinda knew what to expect now, and sure enough, just past V1, the Captain starts his slump over the wheel. Well, I manage to get the airplane (sim) into the air and get the Engineer to get the Captain upright in his seat so I could continue the flight. We had just taken off from KLAX. I asked for immediate clearance back to land and of course, the field was "socked" in, as was everything between there and KSFO. So I asked for DIRECT the 28L LOM at KSFO at FL260 (to get the highest TAS) and put it on the Barber Pole and off we went. The instructor wasn't quite sure what to do, but I told him that is what I would do in "real life"; get clearance from ATC just as I had asked, declaring and emergency.

All went well; we landed and the Captain "survived" and we passed our LOFT!

Usually enjoyed the LOFT experiences.

I have sometimes found that LOFT scenarios are ironically on the "wildly creative" or unrealistic side. Too many things go wrong.

As I understand it, the objective of LOFT is to deal with CRM issues on simulated common line flight. At a previous employer, a typical LOFT scenario would be over a common and non-complicated route with typical weather, and then they might introduce a not terribly significant failure. This made it all the more realistic, rather than a session where everything is failing or burning and none of the airports are optimal.
