Laser pointer attacks
Yesterday I posted an article about laser pointers being pointed at aircraft on approach in Australian airports.
This post never made it to the forum.
I wonder why? I thought the idea with this forum was to discuss relevant topics pertaining to aviation. I think this would certainly be of interest.
Just curious thats all.
BTW, here is the link http://www.smh.com.au/news/travel/ca...850969165.html
Was just wondering if anybody had actually come under such an "attack"?

Yes is the simple answer, it is becoming a regular occurence. We have one lad on bail at the moment who has admitted lasering me near the WAL VOR. There is a regular offender who targets aircraft going into Liverpool JohnLennon Airport from Huyton. We have tried to catch him a number of times, but no luck so far.

The reason it never got to the forum is because it was nothing more than a link to another website with absolutely no comment from you. The title of this one has also been changed from "Question" to better reflect what the subject is about.

Recently subject to such an attack as we landed in Basle (LFSB). In the flare for RW16 we were targeted by a green laser from just outside the perimeter wire. Exposure was approx 5 secs as the laser light was waved across the flightdeck windows. The experience was not harmful, but was very distracting.
Obviously not much to do on a Friday night in Basle!
T'bug
