hi guys,
i have just completed the q300 simulator and been told our planes are coming from flybe, just wondering if anyone happens to have a cockpit photos of the particular aircraft in question to excite myself, i did some digging but just found that flybe have 3x q300 but one of them is grounded, any additional info will be appreciated

406pilot,
These will be ex-BA City machines which seem to be getting sold now. I had a quick look on !!!!!!!!!!!!!! but didn't find any British Airways Q300 cockpit photos.
Not BA/BE but still a Q300 cockpit

We use the 100 sim in Sydney and a 200/300 convertable sim in Melbourne. Our Q200s and Q300s have had the "Q" disabled as they're fitted for maritime surveillance and I gather the noise cancellation doesn't really work when it's not a standard passenger fit.
I use a David Clark headset, I don't have a problem with headsets off though, fairly quiet for a turboprop.

holla,
thanx smallfry for your input, will keep in mind the notes, now that u have mentioned about the over rotation scenario..i had a TOUCHED RWY master caution on my very first take off in the sim..The sim was equipped with dual fms but we were never taught how to operate them so im unfamiliar with the use of it, as we didnt have such luxury on the b737-200's. Thats why i need to know wht the actual flightdeck of our plane looks like, thence this thread...

2 x FMS
There's nothing very mysterious about using two FMS. If they're configured to synchronise automatically at startup then you just put whatever you want into one FMS and it's transferred to the second one. This works for the NAV, Flightplan, and DTO pages but the fuel pages are independant which means you can run different fuel scenarios on each unit. you can also manually put them into independant mode.
We use IAS for the entire climb but that will be in your Ops manual presumeably.

If its one of the ex flybe dashes the GPS was disabled a long time ago. It wasn't mandatory to have it fitted so as a result it was never updated in terms of software etc. We did still use it sometimes as a backup but it was eventually disabled in the way you describe to prevent us from using it at all!

HOLa,
thanks for that input buddy,as u may or may not know the plane is in africa, where gps is more of a necessity then a luxury, having another gps standing by is always a comforting thought, but im just wondering wht our company need to do to re-activate the units....the unit powers on but just doesnt accept any inputs from the pilot...self test just blinks awaiting for me to press "enter"..but no matter wht i press it doesnt accept..

Sorry I can't help you , it was a little while ago now and I don't remember much about the box as we didn't use it. I would have thought it was reasonably easy to reinstate it but as with all these sorts of things the cost might be excessive!
