Scheduled/Chartered/LCC

Firstly, I did search, and found nothing, so I do apologise if this has been covered before.

My question is : How do you know if an airline is Scheduled/Chartered or LCC?

Okay, LCC is fairly obvious...I KNOW what the differences between Scheduled and chartered are, yet I don't know what this means in relation to the airline.

Take BA - I'm fairly sure they would fall under scheduled..but it's not as if you go on the website and it says "WE ARE A SCHEDULED AIRLINE"..and even wiki doesn't catagorically say, so how do you know?

Thanks.
