Command sim time
A nice thread perhaps for the guys/gals out there that are coming up to the time of their career where a slide across from the right seat is imminent. We are heads in the books and thinking seriously about how to handle situations from the point of view as commander, but hows about a list of command sim checks and what scenarios unfolded, and how did you deal with the situation.

No 'scenarios', but always remember to mentally investigate all the possible courses of action for whichever 'scenarios' you get, and why you chose your particular solution. Not talking 'emergency drills' here, but just the many 'obstacles' in your way, a lot of which occur before you are even off chocks. You can bet your bottom Euro you will be asked to justify.
I'll always remember my BA TC saying how as an F/O one had the (correct) answer buttoned up in 10 seconds but on command training it seemed to take while.
