Converting to Swiss Licenses

Hi all,
I'm currently in the process of converting my NZCPL to a Swiss JAR-FCL? PPL.
The amount of data for conversion seems extensive and I am curious if anyone has been through this process before and could hand out some tips.
I've so far go the checklists from the BAZL site and the appropriate application forms, criminal checks, copies of log books, license etc. It is do-able but I'm driving blind at this stage (so to speak).
Being in enZed, it is a bitch to deal with someone on the other side of the world who can speak limited english.
I have maybe a couple of days when I get to Bern, in mid august, but was hoping that all of the boring stuff could be out of the way by the time I get there.
Any past experiences welcome, feel free to PM and no the swiss embassy was not any help!
