Autopilot in beyond min's ???

What's the result of leaving the autopilot connected below min's on a 737-800ng on a single channel approach ???

any ideas ....

It works fine. It is not Fail Active therefore is not a recognised or recommended procedure, but it works fine in autoland.

Limit is 50' radio for the NG. Please see previous discussion about single channel autolands if that is where you are heading.

737NG autopilot left in

The aircraft interferes with the ground at 0ftRA ! That is, there is no flare. db16

My understanding is it will still go into Flare mode and A/T retard. I had this demonstrated during a OEI approach on a -400 simulator.

Minimum use height, single channel is 158' AGL, or 50' below MDA, so nothing happens except that it will follow what you have programmed it to do. Singel channel, ILS, then it will stay in VOR/LOC + GS till you hit something hard. You will not get any "auto" flare, as the thing requires the other A/P to be engaged by 800' RA. If you had both in, it would've applied pitch up trim at 380' RA for the flare. Without it, NO flare.
