Cooling for Onboard Catering Trolleys
Can anyone help me, we supply catering (sandwiches and Salads) for LCC's in France and Spain and have run into a problem with keeping the products cool. In a normal siuation this would not be a problem, as the food is served within a few hours, however in the case of the Sales on Board, not all the food is sold on the sector and it is kept on board for several sectors more without the dry ice being replaced.
Are there any either gas or electrical cooling methods that can be integrated into the trolley to maintain temperatures, ths Airbus 380 has this but that won't help the LCC's

You don't mention the type of airplane; I can tell you that most 747s have up to six [6] galleys and each galley is equipped with an electric chiller that is powered either from onboard generators [engines or APU] or by ground power if the APU's inop.

Cooler bags in the trollies or atlas tins works but much depends on the length of time you need them to be kept at low temps. Could always dry ice "x" amount of food in a seperate cooler bag for use on later rotations.
