Noise Cancelling Headsets
Hello all.
Currently flying a Boeing and sick and tired of the noise. Heard good things about these devices and so was trying to do some research.
Was wondering what people thought were the best noise cancelling headsets and why. After one that doesnt require a battery pack.
The two that have been mentioned to me the most are the
1. Telex Airman ANR 850
http://www.marvgolden.com/headsets/teanr850.htm
and the
2. Sennheiser HMEC45-KAS

Any help/advice greatly appreciated

Used the Sennheiser HMEC-45 on the Dash 8 until the company bought us the -25s. Found it very light and comfortable to wear and while the ANR effect wasn't as pronounced as on the -25 or a fully-enclosed type it made 4-5 sectors a day on the Dash a lot more endurable.

Hi there,
I fly an Airbus and recently bought a Sennheiser HMEC25 ANR headset from ebay for £150. Worth every penny. The passive noise suppression is excellent, and with the ANR switched on, it is truly excellent. You also get the dual benefit of clearer radio reception and the ability to have the volume turned right down to minimum on the radio. We use only one of the ear pads, leaving the other up for communications with the other guy, but if you can use both in your airline, then the ANR is fab!
There are a few on ebay at the moment. Don't worry about the connection type, the one i bought had the Boeing dual plug connection, but an adapter can be purchased for about £30, or make one, as i did.
