New AN-124
The production line for this classic is starting up again. I am interested to know (well, on someones behalf), what kind of engines this new range are going to use.
Any information appreciated,

Like most ex-Soviet aircraft production discussion about future production will be believed when it is seen. Sorry, but that is how it is.
Production of the An124 petered out towards the end of the 1990s but there was then a reincarnation and two new aircraft appeared in 2004. These seem to have been assembled from parts which had been on hand for some time, future talk of production could just be along the same lines. There are a number of ex-Russian Air Force ones stored, doubtless with low hours, awaiting future use, it would seem fruitless to restart an assembly line to build new ones in this situation.
The original raison d'etre behind the type was to carry ICBMs around the Soviet Union, not a lot of demand for that any more.
