I am afraid I have to disagree. On my very modern aircraft the FMGC wind is derived only from IRS values which mean there can be fairly large errors. I agree with KIT if you land when the tower wind is outside your "company limits" and have an incident the book will quite rightly be thrown at you. Captains authority is not to be used just to "have a go". There must be a serious (emergency) reason to deviate from company rules.
