Type rating and validation
Who can tell me what is right?
A friend of mine has a licence from his country. He is flying in other country on the B737 with licence validation. So, his licence is recognized by that country and there is no problem. But, recently the company for which he is working for has given him A320 training according the rules of that country. The euthority has given him the type rating into his validation. He still has no type in his native licence.
The authorities say that they have control over what they have issued.

As far as I am aware, a validation is issued on the basis of an existing licence which must include the aircraft types to be included on the validation. If the person does not have the type on their licence I don't think that a validation can be issued.

Type on a validation
Hi,
As far as I know, a validation is a recognition of a licence by the state of the operator you work for, it is not a licence by itself.
You can only add a rating to a valid licence. It means that any new rating must be added to the original licence, acording to the coutry of licence issue, and then the that licence with their respective ratings validated by the coutry of operator authority.
The process will be simplified if the rating is obtained under country of operator regulations, subject to prior approval by the coutry of licence issue. Under JAR, ratings obtained under JAR regulations should be acepted by other JAA countries automaticaly.
Hope this will help,
Happy landings

So , what if your original license is current (Instrument) but your type rating expires? ( you just renew the instrument and license, 'cause you can t have a the tre-tri to renew that particular type available, but can have an instructor only ).
Can one fly under validation and have the type renewed on the validation ?
