Question for TRI's
This is a question for TRI/TRE's only.
If a low hour pilot completes a type rating on a large jet aircraft, up to the licence skill test. How long a time period would be sufficient before attempting the base training (without going in the simulator again)?

Having participated in this scenario a time or two, the base training was scheduled ASAP, and then...line training followed, without delay.
It is a very BAD idea to have much in the way of a delay, IMO, as if there is, a severe dis-service to the new First Officer can be expected.
Keep the pressure on, and they perform better.
Train hard, fight easy.

As a TRE and Base Trainer (the one that does the circuits in the aircraft for your rating) I suggest you do them as soon as possible after your Skill Test so as to enjoy your recency.
Why wait?
