ICAO Licence Validity
quick question.
If I let my ICAO licence lapse by not renewing the IR on the type that got me the licence in the first place after 12 months, will I have to retake all the ATPL exams over again or is it a simple case of the licence being invalid/frozen indefinately until I renew the aircraft specific IR thats tagged onto the licence.

Hi,
normally you should ask the authority to let "rest" your licence, then, latest after 3 years you are able to renew the licence by just doing a Sim check(+ Medical of course).
However, I understood you didn`t ask your authority to put your licence on rest, so you should just ring them up to clarify the status of your licence. Maybe you should insist that you advised them 12 month ago to put your licence on rest, maybe it works... .
