does the Sennheiser HMEC 25 KAL work in boeing 737ng?

Hi all,

just brought this lovely headset off a certain www auction site, and had a awful feeling that it may not be compatible with my a/c type (B737-800). i've done a bit of research but cant really find much info, been on the sennhieser website and found out the connector type. this headset is the KAL version of the HMEC 25 series and it gets its power from the DC power supply of the A/c.. any thoughts?

hopefully it will be better than the crappy Telex ones we have and i might get home at night without a headache from the noisiest air con system ever designed!

cheers

RA

Oooh, not sure, I think the Boeing can be specified to supply a voltage down the lead, if the Telex's are Noise cancelling, its a possibility.
I've got a KMEC-45-KA which has a small battery pack on a lead, but speak to Headset Services Ltd at Shoreham, and speak to Ernest, sure he will be able to tell you. Good Luck!

I use the HMEC 45 KA on -300, -500 and -700's. We have pilots that use both the HMEC 25 KA and the HMEC 45 KA. The "KA" uses two AA batteries for the noise canceling.

The KAL unit uses 28v from the aircraft to power the "NoiseGard™ active noise compensation".

Probably the worst would be the NoiseGard™ would not work. Try to contact Sennheiser.
