Airbus ECAM msg: Pitch ELAC 2 fault.

Hi all,

I had the other day after take off the msg as follows: ELAC 2 Pitch Fault as an advisory.
As far I understood the syst it means Pitch fonction of ELAC 2 is INOP and ELAC 1 has taken over the pitch function.
In QRH section 2.38 RESET of SYST, it refers to FCOM etc....., therefore a reset inflight should not be recommended and actually I did not agree as no ECAM called for it....
My question is with this msg, the pitch function is transferred to ELAC 1, what about the ailerons?. What about the reset inflight did somebody tried?

Thanks.

Hi Atoll,

In that case, I suggest you to exit your flight simulator and start another flight or choose another aircraft. I am not sure that restarting your computer is necessary.

When ELAC2 fails, pitch control is moved to ELAC1 for Elevators and THS.

ELAC1 normally controls Ailerons anyway so now it controls Ailerons, Elevators and THS.
