list of airlines for a particular country?

Hi all, does anybody know where it is possible to obtain a list of licenced operators for a particular county?
Does the ICAO for example keep a database of such things.
I am particularly interested in the carribbean region.
Any help much appreciated.

The local regulatory authority will show the AOC holders for each country depending upon what they post on their websites, though I doubt that any ICAO listing exists.

I suppose for countries other than the uk it would be best to look at the aviation authority of the individual country for the info.
