TCAS Mandatory in German Airspace

Am trying to find a definitive answer to this.
Is TCAS Mandatory in German Airspace ?
Can find no reference to support this. Anyone able to help ?

Yes, it is mandatory.

When flying RVSM, which from my understanding is implemented in German airspace, then yes! TCAS is Mandatory.

(At the appropriate FLT LVLS)

Well, TCAS is mandatory and RVSM is implemented. But both things are independent of each other. RVSM doesnt automaticly makes TCAS mandatory, you just have to use a certain version of ACAS to be able to use it within RVSM Airspace. For example it is possible to fly several days in a row with an inop TCAS in german RVSM environment, if TCAS would be a prerequisite for RVSM (like 2 independent altimeter systems) that wouldn't be possible.

...a much too generalized statement, as I doubt that your Cessna 172 would have to be equipped as such.
