telex anr 850 headset

hello president,

i just purchased one & used it lastweek for the first time.(b737ng). it is indeed top quality. the ear cups are a little bigger as should be & have very comfortable cushion pads. and above all, it works without AAbatteries. explanatory notice says:"ANR: receives power from boom mic connection". but as always with good things, it comes at a price: 249british pounds/523eur.

I need to buy a new one too and have my sight set for the same Telex ANR 850. The thing is that I'm going on to a new a/c, Dash 8 Q400, and I don't know the noise level of that bird. Anyone with experience on the Q400 and lightweight headsets like to share some info. Does the Telex ANR 850 work well in that aircrat?

Thx

Hi

I´ve investigated a bit on the field and after reading many good things about the telex 850 I bought one at transair pilot shop (app. 350 punds). I have yet to try it. Seems like a good headset due to its light weight and ANR without batteries! Its also significantly cheaper than the comparable model from Sennheiser. This article gives you an idea about it http://www.avweb.com/news/reviews/186646-1.html
