Jet * Asia incident/Siem Reap Cambodia

I was a passenger on Jet*Asia's flight 3K596 from Siem Reap to Singapore today (31st January 2006). The incoming flight from Singapore landed on time but departure was delayed by more than 2 hours because of an immigration problem involving a passenger, rumoured to be Nigerian, who was apparently denied entry by the Cambodian authorities, and was refusing to reboard the aircraft to be taken back to Singapore. He sat down on a kerb at the edge of the tarmac in full view of the 180 passengers waiting to board the flight, while Cambodian officials and Jet Star Asia cockpit crew reasoned with him. He finally boarded the aircraft and one doesn't know what happened to him after the flight landed in Singapore.

Quite a few of the passengers seemed a tad nervous about the prospect of a flight with a passenger who seemed less than reasonable to say the least. I wonder if Jet * Asia would care to comment.

JA,

Fact is, that in most countries, airlines bringing in pax with no proper documentation have to take them home again.

It can get a lot worse. They tried to put a handcuffed and gagged lady on my ship once in Brussels with two heavies. No I didn't accept it.

Once the pax realises, that by making a fuss, he might cause the airline to leave him behind, he will keep doing it.

FC.
