If opperated in RNAV mode will the EHSI display deviation per dot in degrees or nautical miles?

Some sources say one dot equals 0.5nm, however the Boeing 734 manual says it equals 0.5 degrees.

This is a radio nav question for the ATPL's and my school are sticking with nautical miles, i just thought i'd ask as the Boeing manual says degrees.

Any help would be much appreciated.

LNAV / RNAV lateral deviation is always Cross-Track Error (XTK), i.e. Nautical Miles.
