pilot shirts

g'day all!

had a look on pilotshirts.com and they look pretty good! Just wondering if any one of you have purchased pilot shirts from that site? If so, whats the quality of the shirts like and are they comfortable, especially in hot weather (like in Oz where i am)?

If you are that near to Hong Kong find a decent on the web and get him to make you up half a dozen in cotton and half a dozen in single weave silk. Absolutel outstanding and the trolley thingies (not allowed to say the D word) really like stroking the material with a view to future purchase.
Alternatively you could go here:
http://www.hawesandcurtis.com/about_us_and_shirts.asp
which is where I sometimes buy shirts at sale time.
Toodle pip..all in favour of a little sartorial elegance in the cockpit say 'Aye'!

Also wanted to know the same thing!

I'm guessing if $ is an issue, those pilot sites may be better than Hawes&Curtis, even at sale time. Looks mighty pricey!

Sounds like you're as in the dark as I am about shirts. All I know is you won't stay cooler than if you're flying in a 100% cotton shirt. Will post back here if I manage to find something good!

the pattern?

For the cut and comfort but not the quality the RAF wedgewood blue seemed fine by me. Plenty room under the arms, comes a bit baggy but a coupla darts up the back and hand the thing in as a pattern in Singapore or Hong Kong.

Double 2 did do a poplin mix but the RAF understood short sleeves are not chopped longsleeves.

"Aye, aye", Cavorting Cheetah. Comfort and understated elegance. But no fragrances. That's what poms use in place of soap. And their feet stink.

Eh, eh, steady on... I'm a pom! Sure, we can be an 'orrible lot, but some of us do know what a shower and a bar of soap is! (Might be right about the feet though)!

Thanks for the other advice enicalyth re. uniforms. Top stuff.

Wear silk socks and have the prettiest unmounted sowarry wash them in cold tea both before and after landing.
