CAA or ICAO ?

Would anyone happen to know what the standard proceedure for UK IFR flights is as regards to approach limitations?

Im aware that the UK CAA requirements are based on aircraft mass, whereas ICAO uses speed. Is the CAA method still in place? If so for how long?
