RVSM
What is the difference between nat rvsm airspace and euro rvsm airspace? How do the rvsm transition areas work? Can you fly rvsm flight levels all around Europe or can you use the standard flight level system above flight level 290 i.e (even 310, 350, 390 etc)?
Thanks for your help

Europe is all RVSM, except where Europe becomes Russia. So you don't have a real choice, except if you don't want to fly at high FL's. Who wants this, especially nowadays?
In the RVSM transition areas the transition from RVSM FL's to none RVSM FL's will occur. This means you will see a lot of climbs and descents in these areas to change from RVSM FL's to "normal" FL'S and vice versa. In other simple words in the transition areas you will find both systems, the "old" one and RVSM depending if going from RVSM to none RVSM or from none RVSM to RVSM.
Without checking any details in the manuals, I would say there is no major difference between the NAT RVSM and the EUR RVSM, at least for me as pilot.
Hope this helps.
