Concorde flight time from the UK coast to LHR

Hi,
I was wondering is there any ex-concorde pilots out there or anyone else. Who could tell me how long Concorde would have taken from coming out of supersonic flight over the english coast and flying sub-sonic to Heathrow.
I was on the beech at Woolacombe, Devon in 2000, when I heard a large boom high above my head. I saw Concorde heading inland I presume to Heathrow. I've been told half an hour to Heathrow is about right, but is this correct.

From where you were to overhead Heathrow would take somewhat less than half an hour but take account of the reduction in speed for the approach and half an hour would be close..

Thank you HD,
What had me puzzled was I flew on Trident 3 to Heathrow from Manchester in the early 80's and it took around about half an hour.
I've just checked my atlas which I sould of checked first and the distance from woolacombe to Heathrow is just a bit further than Manchester to Heathrow.
So it looks like Half an hour as you say would be right and maybe a little longer too.

Yes, it's difficult to be very accurate as there are a number of factors. Used to open the range on one our of our long range radars in the evenings and pick up the Conc out over Lundy Island. Doesn't take too long from there if they kept the speed on, but naturally the speed dropped off as they approached Heathrow. Concorde was a fantastic aeroplane... and great crews flying her.

I was on watch at Heathrow in the 70s when a Northeast Airlines Trident got from Aberdeen to Heathrow in about 45 mins and the crew all came up with cases of beer to celebrate, which is how it ought to be!!

According to my record of a Concorde flight from JFK - LHR on 12 Dec 1988 - we reduced through Mach1 passing FL400 , the DME showing 225NM to run to Ockham (this would have been more or less bang over Lands End) . Torbay visible at 1740 and landed Heathrow at 1808.
Captain was John Cook who passed away last May , very nice man . Hope that helps .

I sat and watched (P3) one of our more competent flight managers fly LHR-MAN in 22mins on the Trident 1.(great circle 131nm)

Should have known what he planned when just before departure he stated "this time of the evening there are no birds about". I seem to remember the Trident 1 Vne was 385kts but not sure on the bird speed. 280kts perhaps.

Back from Bahrain the Concorde I seem to remember cruised at .96 mach (against our .87) but the Trident was a match for it at Vne during the descent. In the days before holding into LHR was the norm you could leave Biggin on the "standard" 320 heading for 27R at 380kts and not need speedbrake! (perhaps one felt more comfortable in having the facility of 10,000rpm in reverse on 1&3 to slow down as well as the speedbrake even though using it was a reflection on one's manhood or something!)

Memoiries of one's youth.....
