Fuel @ MAX Payload

Hi there!

How do you get the max available fuel @ max payload?

The following is given - (the figures are just example figures - out of the blue)

Max Ramp Weigt - lets say 28000 lb
MTOW - 27000 lb
MZFW - 21000 lb
Max Fuel Capacity - 9400 lb
Basic Operating Weight (incl. Crew): 17000 lb
Useful Payload and Fuel - 10800 lb
Max Payload - 3800 lb
Payload at full fuel - 1600 lb

We didn't find the right key to get the fuel, that you can take with you with 1800 lb reserve fuel.

Hope you guys can show us the right way.

Thx,
pilot007

MTOW - MZFW

MZFW is the airplane plus max allowed payload with zero fuel. All the remainder of the MTOW must be fuel.

Max Payload = Op empty wt - ZFW

=> 21000 - 17000 = 4000lb

Max Fuel = MTOW-MZFW+Taxi Fuel

=> 27000 - 21000 + (say) 200lb = 6200lb.

Taxi Fuel in this case can not be greater than MRampW - MTOW otherwise you would exceed the max ramp wt.

007 - as my learned friend Cough has indicated, it is quite simple, and you are 'bamboozling' yourself with too much information in your post. I think the words 'available' and 'useful' are also causing confusion.

You need only
Line 1 : Max ramp wt
Line 3 : Max ZF wt
Line 4 : Max fuel capacity and
Line 5: BO wt

If what you are asking is the max fuel AT the max payload

1 - 3 (NB On your figures this is less than '4') =7000lbs - which is what you get if you take your Line 7 from 6

NB Again!! - if by 'available' fuel you mean without reserves, 5200lbs, although 'reserves' are 'available fuel'

If what you are asking is the max payload you could take

3 - 5 = 4000lbs

If what you are asking is the max fuel you could ever take

4 = 9400lbs

Line 2 ('MTOW') is not relevant to the question, unless you wish to know what you can TAKE OFF with, and 'reserves' do not affect the maximum fuel you can 'take', but should be left in tanks at landing.

The rest of the info is correct (and somewhere you have 'assumed', I think, 200lbs taxy fuel).

Line 6 should be '?available? payload and fuel' and is

Line 1 - Line 5 = 11000lbs, which leaves you with 1600lbs of payload at full tanks (Line 8), or 4000lbs with no fuel. (See next line)

Line 7 is as above, 4000lbs

Hope that makes sense? What is it all for please? My head hurts!
