United Air Lines- Caravelles

UAL flew some Caravelles for awhile. Did they fly them out of LAX in the mid 60's and then stop in 1964? thanks, lr.

As I was flying out of LAX at the time, never noticed any UAL Caravelles...I believe they were used on the east coast/mid-west only.

Could be wrong though...

I'm fairly sure United flew them (or some of them) until as recently as 1971 or so.

Okay, I do remember them flying out of ORD, I guess I was wrong about LAX. I didn't know tho that UAL had any left in '71. Thanks for your replies. lr.

I checked out their Summer 63 and 64 schedules, the Caravelles didn't go any further West than MSP/Des Moines/Omaha

I have an old book kicking around which shows they received 20 of them between June 1961 and Feb 1962. They were sold between May 1970 and December 1972 to, amongst others, Sterling and Transavia.

UAL received 20 Caravelle's starting in 1961, and used it for the New York - Chicago run.
