777 and A3xx Fly By Wire

Hi, I was interested in your opinons on the following. I am a Computer Science student studying critical systems engineering (keen pax and frequent reader of PPRUNE). I have read a number of detailed papers on the Airbus FBW system, however I have not been able to obtain as much information on the B777 system.

The Airbus uses 3 primary and 2 secondary computers right? All running on different hardware and different versions of the software?

What does the B777 do. I have read somewhere that it simply uses formal spec and fewer computers/redundant hardware devices/versions of the software. Is this correct.

Also, without wishing to start the whole Airbus Vs Boeing debate (and I apologise now if I start this), what are your views on the systems, their relaiability, their organisation etc etc as the people using it.

Thanks for any info you can provide

Ongen

Why post here in R & N? If you are a keen reader of Pprune, you'd know where to go with a query like this.
