Turboprop Oxygen Requirements
Ok, scenario.
Turboprop, pressurised, no px oxygen, flying FL250.
Sudden decompression.
What are the time limits for getting the a/c down to FL150/FL100?
reading jar ops notes, px oxygen is not required if the a/c can descend to FL130 in 4 minutes and that an emergency descent must be initiated within 10 seconds?
is this true as i was told this was tosh.
Obviously crew oxygen is required its just the passenger caveat i am unsure about.
Can anyone clear this up for me.

The 4 minute requirement is from the original CAR4b certification requirements for heavy transports in the USA...piston, turboprops, jets.
In fact, US Air used to operate BAC-111's at a max altitude of FL250, which did away with the pax oxy requirements.
Lockheed Electras (at other US airlines), likewise.
Really don't think this would fly today (FAR25) for jets, but might be wrong...

The ATR does not have drop down oxygen masks, however, there is a nozzle in place above the pax and oxygen in those situations is pumped through.
That seems to do the trick, flight deck have their own masks and oxygen as usual.
The ATR is certified to 25,000 ft.
