Question Fokker 28, a question?

Can anyone with experience flying the Fokker 28 tell me the answer to the following.

What's the normal flap setting to use on the Fokker 28 when landing. Is it 42 or 25 deg? I'm inclined to beleive its 42, but not sure.

I appreciate for example on the B737, the norm is Flap 30, and Flap 40 for shorter fields. Now that's simplified generalisation, so I don't want to discuss the B737, but you can see where I'm coming from!

Furthurmore is Flap 11 used in the approach phase?

Cheers,

Flap 42 is normally landing flap however 25 can be used if required. I used 25 when landing in strong gusty winds where windsheer was possible...we also used 25 in the PNG highlands when the WAT limits for landing climb were exceeded. i.e. if we lost an engine on a 2 engine go around over a certain weight and OAT with Flap42 we could not clean up and climb away so landed 25...with touchdown speed approaching tyre limit speed of 170kts.

Flap 15 is approacg flap for flap 25 landing and flap25 for 42. Flap 11 was the first flap setting we called for...don't remember ever using flap 5.

CC,

Can you tell me, I have the following flap settings for the F28. (0/6/11/18/25/42)

You have stated Flap 5 and 15. Is that a mistake, or different for what your company used?

Cheers,

Sorry it's been a few years since flying the Fokker and 4 jets later I get my 5 and 6/15&18s etc mixed up. The 767 I fly now has 1/5/15/20/25/30.

Chuck.
