Question Landing Lights II

Shortly after leaving Reus on Wednesday evening, on a Ryanair 737-800, noted landing lights being switched on/off several times, with no apparent pattern/duration. We were no more than about 5 minutes after take-off, and the lights went on for between 5-10 seconds, then off for about same interval. This happened about 4-5 times.

Any reason for this, or were flight crew "playing" with new aircraft?

If it was fully dark, could it be to do with seeing whether they were still in cloud (for engine anti-ice reasons) or if you were in cloud maybe the reflection glare was annoying them? This might be combined with an airline SOP to have landing lights on below 10000ft or something. They might have been trying to comply with SOPs but found the glare distracting.

All guesswork, I'm afraid.

Devil landing lights

As I know the inboard ldg\lights as of SOP must be on on T.O.(birdstrike); the DO 328 jet has as standard option a switch pos.
where they alternatively (L&R )flash.
