Fuel Control to Rich

I have noticed that on the fuel control selecter on the centre pedistal of a 767, there is a 'Rich' position. What is this used for?
Thank you.

I've never flown anything over 2000kg so i'm obviously not an authority when it comes to B767 systems, but I believe the rich setting is used for engine starting on very cold days. But you're gonna want confirmation on that one

We do not have a RICH position on our 767s (RR engines), but we do on our 757s. It is used for starting when the engine is cold (EGT of 0 degC) or if the engine has been shut down in flight and you are having trouble re-starting it.

On the Pratt and Witney JT9, rich is used to start the engine when the EGT is below 15 degrees C. It increases the fuel flow by just 45 Kg per hour.
