Streamline aviation
I am thinking about doing a typerating at streamline on the Shorts. They told me there is a possibility to get hired after that. Who has followed this course and get hired, or could tell me more about this? All information is welcome about it here on pprune or at [email protected].
Thanks, |
Streamline have now been absorbed into Emerald Airways.
There was a few posts on this topic that appeared not too long ago. Try doing a search. There was mixed responses to the scheme as a whole. I get the impression that the more hours you have then the better the chance you could have. There is a PPRuNer who has a full ATPL who did her type rating with them and got a job with them. Hope you get the info you were looking for! ;) |
Theo,
Dutchman - come on man thats not fair !! english ? ja ?
|
he says you should use the search function and that the reactions you will find about this company aren't very positive. He might be able to help with Marisia&Co but doesn't offer any guarantee!

"Desperate for a job" was someone looking for info about a SD330 course they were starting on the 23 Sept. Out of interest
would welcome any feed back, from you or anyone that attended on the outcome? |
Het spijt me. ik spreek neet Netherlands.(sorry Dutch friends, this is probably wrong)
I was considering doing this course, I know of two friends who did it and have been given jobs. It seems that unless you do very badly or are rude to ops, you go into a holding pool and are offered a position when one becomes available, as first officer pay is not particularly attractive, they are expected to move on to shiny jets after a year or two. Now Emerald have taken over, I would like to know if the same recruitment applies before committing myself to the course? |
My apologies for using a bit of my national lingo. Steamchicken's translation was pretty good, except for the last bit which was meant as a bit of a joke for ECHIE. Just said to use search function, as there are previous postings on this topic.

This approach may be worth considering when things are moving, otherwise you find the pool has become stagnant.
There are a large number of relativeley low hour shorts people and a small and reducing number of operators. It might be worth delaying any decision for say 6 months to see if the market moves and the company is still there post merger/take-over. The female mentioned in a previous post probably already had airline experience. |
