Skyborne at the moment is at full capacity. They cannot afford to bring in even more trainees. They are really struggling, especially in the MEIR phase of training to get people done without significantly delaying them. Head office is just chasing the money at this point. Overpromising and underdelivering to those who are paying a lot of money to get through the system.

Announced today. EasyJet training 500 pilots with skyborne . Much more expensive than the mpl course though . Will there actually be any jobs for Cadets that aren’t on airline supervised training schemes in 2yrs?

I suspect that the programme will appeal to two main types of candidate.
The first is those being funded by their parents/family when they have either left school or left university and see it as a quick way to a jet job. The second type is people who are earning very high salaries whilst working very long hours, City bankers and lawyers, those in six-figure tech roles etc. People from those backgrounds just don't have the time to do part-time modular training. For everyone else, modular would appear to be the main option. I have heard anecdotal evidence of delays at Skyborne, where's the capacity for an extra 100 or so cadets a year going to come from? |
