Based on their track record of delays since at least 2018, I wouldn’t rely on it..

For those in Malaga, wondering why there is no flying -Move to the next available course at FTE Jerez or even just go modular. At the moment, there is a pilot shortage in the airlines and with the correct calibre and licence you will succeed. Who knows what the situation will be in a few years time. Why an earth stay at CAE for more of this?

Hi all, I just wanted to post a quick update on the delays and how things have been changing. I can only speak to what is going on at the CAE Phoenix ATO.

CAE has restructured the EASA/UKCAA Instructor training program and called in all the help they can find in North America, while eliminating previous bottlenecks in the training process. Because of this, we have added 6 instructors fully qualified to teach ATPL and MPL cadets (myself included) in the F1 stage (Core 1 for EasyJet MPL cadets). 5 have been additionally upgraded to teach in the F2 stage of ATPL (Core 2 for EasyJet MPL Cadets). On top of this, we are expecting the 6 newest instructors to upgrade to F2 by February. Beyond that, there are 3-6 new F1 ATPL/MPL instructors will also be added by January or February. So to summarize, 9-12 total new instructors by February, and 6-9 upgrades by February.

So what does this mean for cadets?

Timelines are currently readjusting to what is expected. Things aren’t perfect by any means, but they are improving. My students in the ATPL syllabus who were previously delayed by up to 3 months from their expected completed date have been caught up to 1 month delay and that is rapidly approaching on timeline. EASA/UKCAA cadets appear to have priority at the moment regarding scheduling of resources, but this is anecdotal. A representative of EasyJet was spotted on campus a few weeks ago and was seemingly impressed with the changes made.

Things are still not “fixed” but are actually improving for once. I suspect the newest class of MPL cadets in December 2025 will be the closest to on time finishers we have had in quite some time.

Hi again, here comes another update - this time great news. Most Easyjet cadets are officially being completed on time, and perhaps even ahead of schedule. The group of students I was assigned to instruct beginning the last week of December 2025 will officially be finished with the Core Phase in the first week of June 2026. One even has 2 weeks to travel the US before their flight back to Europe.

We now have 34 active instructors, plus a few in training up to 37. There are also flight leads that can fly as needed here and there that can help, so we are up to about 40 in total. Timelines going forward for about the next year look to be on schedule for all cadets to finish on time. For expected timelines right now: Core 1 about 3-5 weeks, Core 2 about 10-13 weeks, and Core 3 is about 1 week on average.

Hi all, I'm here with another update!

CAE has officially finished Cadets on time! To put in perspective - I began a group of 3 EasyJet EASA cadets in December 2025. They finished Core 1 in 4 weeks, Core 2 in 12, and Core 3 in 1 week. They even have enough time to explore the US for about 2 weeks before they fly back home to Europe.

As an example to show how fast you can go if the timing is perfect - a student that began in the first week of March 2026 is on pace to finish in the first week July 2026! The rest of his class had a 4 week delay due to administrative issues, but is still forecast to complete the last training flight the last week of August 2026, which is still ahead of the 7 months planned per the Training Manual.

Things have changed quite a bit around here, with people in place who seem to truly care about making positive change for students.
